Program Curriculum
Our pathway includes specialized courses tailored to the needs of student-athletes:
1. Student-Athlete Readiness
​The Student-Athlete Readiness course is designed to equip high school students with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to successfully transition from high school to college athletics. This comprehensive course covers the essential elements of being a student-athlete, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for the demands and opportunities that lie ahead.
2. Financial Literacy
​The Financial Literacy course is designed to provide high school students with essential knowledge and skills for managing personal finances. Through practical lessons and hands-on activities, students will learn how to make informed financial decisions and build a strong foundation for their future financial well-being.
3. Personal Branding
​The Personal Branding & NIL course is designed to help high school students develop a strong personal brand and understand the growing world of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements. This course provides practical strategies for building an authentic personal brand, leveraging social media, and navigating the evolving landscape of NIL laws and opportunities.
4. Leadership 1​
This engaging and interactive course is designed to equip secondary students with essential leadership skills for success in academics, extracurricular activities, future careers, and life. Through a blend of theory, practical exercises, group discussions, and real-world application, students will explore various leadership styles, develop effective communication and teamwork strategies, learn problem-solving and decision-making techniques, and cultivate personal qualities that inspire and motivate others. This course emphasizes self-awareness, ethical leadership, and the importance of positive social impact. Students will also have opportunities to apply their learning through projects, simulations, and potential community engagement activities.
5. Nutrition and Wellness
​This comprehensive course is designed to empower secondary student-athletes with the knowledge and skills necessary to optimize their physical and mental well-being for peak performance. It goes beyond the basics of training and competition, focusing on the interconnectedness of health, wellness, and athletic success. Students will explore topics such as nutrition, hydration, injury prevention and recovery, stress management, sleep optimization, mental toughness, and the importance of balancing academics and athletics. This course emphasizes a holistic approach to athlete development, fostering healthy habits and promoting lifelong wellness.
6. Sports Marketing
​This dynamic and engaging course provides secondary students with a comprehensive introduction to the exciting world of sports marketing. Students will explore the fundamental principles of marketing as they apply to the sports industry, learning how teams, athletes, leagues, and sporting goods companies build brands, engage fans, and generate revenue. Through real-world case studies, hands-on projects, and guest speakers (where possible), students will gain a practical understanding of the strategies and tactics used to promote sports and related products. This course will cover topics such as market research, branding, sponsorship, social media marketing, event management, and the evolving landscape of the sports industry.
7. Sports Medicine
​This introductory course provides secondary students with a foundational understanding of the principles and practices of sports medicine. Students will explore the various aspects of caring for athletes, from injury prevention and recognition to basic treatment and rehabilitation. This course will cover topics such as anatomy and physiology, common sports injuries, injury prevention strategies, basic first aid and emergency procedures, therapeutic modalities, and the roles of various healthcare professionals involved in sports medicine. This course offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, providing students with a comprehensive overview of the field and potentially sparking an interest in future healthcare careers.
